Our Story

The CCFC was founded in Fall 2021 to meet a need for off-season skills development for regional soccer players and was designed as an integral piece of the effort to grow the fitness, technical footwork skill set, and love for the game of soccer in the East Central Illinois area.

The CCFC is located in Robinson, IL, but the Club is open to, and inclusive of, anyone with interest, ages 5-99! The youth league (Kindergarten-12th grade) is competitive and fast-paced, while maintaining emphasis on fun and equal playing time. The adult league (ages 18 and up) has players with vast playing experience levels and encourages an atmosphere of fitness, positivity, and healthy competition.

Futsal is a version of indoor soccer played on a basketball court with a smaller, low-bounce ball called a futsal. This is closely related to indoor soccer, which is played with a soccer ball on turf and uses walls. Futsal creates an opportunity for more touches on the ball as players learn to work in tight spaces and play quicker/more accurately. It’s fast-paced, intuitive, and a great way to keep skills up during the off-season.

The CCFC Founder, Tanya Reed, has a lifelong love for the game of soccer and grew up playing from the age of 5 through the collegiate level. She has been coaching youth soccer for 10+ years at all ages. She holds referee certifications with both IHSA (Illinois High School Association) and USSF (United States Soccer Federation) and has been refereeing soccer games in Crawford County, Terre Haute, Indianapolis, and Chicagoland areas for 30+ years. Her passion for the game, coupled with her positive attitude and intent to instill sportsmanship and character in her players, combine to provide the fundamental basis for how the CCFC is operated. It is with these guiding principles that Tanya operates the CCFC, cultivating a family atmosphere (her children play) and a healthy amount of competitive spirit.
